Metal Detection / X-ray
- Is metal detection or X-ray inspection applied to finished product where identified as a control? *
- Are detector sensitivity standards (ferrous, non-ferrous, stainless) established and validated? *
- Are functional checks with test pieces performed at defined frequencies? *
- Metal detector test piece size verified (mm)
- Is automatic reject and reject-verification (bin lock/photocell) functional? *
Glass & Brittle Plastic Control
- Is a glass and brittle plastic register maintained and periodically audited? *
- Is glass minimized or shielded in production and storage areas? *
- Is a documented glass/hard-plastic breakage procedure in place with line clearance? *
Physical Hazard Prevention
- Is a knife, blade, and tool accountability/control procedure enforced? *
- Are sieves, filters, magnets, and screens installed and inspected on schedule? *
- Are wood, staples, and pallet controls in place at receiving and staging? *
- Is a no-loose-items / jewelry policy enforced in production areas? *
Corrective Action & Records
- Are foreign-material rejects investigated for root cause and trended? *
- Is product held/segregated when a detection failure or breakage occurs during a run? *
- Are detector/inspection verification records retained and reviewed? *
- Date of most recent foreign-material trend review
