Placement and Clearances
- Unit is set on a level, stable pad clear of vegetation and debris *
- Clearances from windows, doors, and combustibles meet manufacturer/code minimums *
- Exhaust discharges away from building openings and air intakes *
- Enclosure is intact with no corrosion or pest intrusion
Fuel and Electrical Connections
- Fuel line and shutoff valve are installed with no leaks or corrosion *
- Diesel fuel level and tank containment are adequate (if applicable)
- Wiring, conduit, and grounding are secure and weatherproof *
- Battery is charged, terminals are clean, and charger is functioning *
Functional Test
- Generator starts on manual/exercise command within normal crank time *
- ATS transfers load on simulated utility loss and re-transfers on restoration *
- Voltage and frequency stabilize within tolerance under load
- No abnormal noise, vibration, smoke, or alarm during operation *
Maintenance and Findings
- Oil, coolant, and air filter show routine maintenance
- Exercise schedule is set on the controller
- Deficiencies and recommendations
- Photo of the unit and data plate
