Duty & Driving Limits
- Are drivers limited to 11 hours of driving after 10 consecutive hours off duty (property carriers)? *
- Is driving prohibited beyond the 14th consecutive hour after coming on duty? *
- Is the 30-minute break taken after 8 cumulative hours of driving time? *
- Are the 60-hour/7-day and 70-hour/8-day limits observed? *
Records of Duty Status
- Are drivers using a compliant electronic logging device (or valid exception)? *
- Are supporting documents retained and reconciled against ELD records? *
- Are ELD malfunctions handled with paper logs and repair within 8 days? *
Fatigue Controls
- Are drivers trained to recognize fatigue and empowered to stop driving when impaired? *
- Are dispatching and scheduling practices reviewed so they do not force HOS violations? *
- Is the adverse driving conditions exception applied and documented only when justified? *
Oversight
- Are HOS logs audited regularly for violations and falsification? *
- Are violations corrected with documented coaching or discipline? *
