  • No negative grading, settled soil, or reverse slope directing water to the foundation *

Roof Drainage

  • Gutters are secure, sloped, and free of debris/blockage *
  • Downspouts discharge at least several feet from the foundation with extensions *
  • No signs of overflow staining or splash erosion at the foundation *

Site Water Management

  • Swales, drains, or catch basins direct surface water away from the home
  • No standing water, ponding, or erosion channels observed near the structure *
  • Window wells and below-grade openings have drainage and covers
  • Sump pump/subsurface drainage (if present) operates and discharges properly
  • Summary of drainage deficiencies and recommendations
