  • Photo of the chimney exterior and cap

Flue and Liner

  • Flue liner is present, continuous, and appropriate for the appliance *
  • No significant creosote (Stage 2/3) buildup observed *
  • No cracked tiles, gaps, or deterioration observed in the liner *
  • Flue is free of blockages, debris, or animal nests *

Firebox and Connections

  • Firebox, damper, and smoke chamber are intact and operable *
  • Required clearances to combustibles are maintained at the fireplace/appliance *
  • Gas appliance connection and venting are proper with no evidence of back-drafting
  • Hearth extension meets the required dimensions for the appliance
