Intersection Identification
- Intersection / signal ID *
- Inspection date *
- Controller type / operating mode (pretimed / actuated / coordinated)
Signal Heads & Displays
- Are all signal indications operating with correct color, sequence, and no burned-out modules? *
- Are signal heads properly aimed, visible, and free of physical damage? *
- Are backplates, visors, and mounting hardware secure?
- Do phasing and clearance (yellow + all-red) intervals match the approved timing sheet? *
Controller & Cabinet
- Is the controller cabinet weathertight, grounded, and free of corrosion or water intrusion? *
- Is the malfunction management unit / conflict monitor present and passing self-test? *
- Is the current timing/programming documentation stored in the cabinet?
- Is battery backup / UPS (if equipped) functional?
Detection
- Are vehicle detectors (loop/video/radar) calling and functioning on all approaches? *
- Are any detector faults or continuous calls present? *
- Are pedestrian and bicycle detectors functioning where installed?
Pedestrian Features
- Do pedestrian signals display WALK / flashing DON'T WALK with correct clearance time for crossing distance? *
- Are pushbuttons functional and, where required, accessible (APS)?
