Sign Inventory
- Sign asset ID / location *
- Sign category (regulatory / warning / guide) *
- Is an assessment/management method for retroreflectivity maintenance in place per agency policy? *
Placement & Visibility
- Does mounting height meet MUTCD minimums for the roadway type? *
- Is lateral offset from the traveled way adequate and not creating a hazard? *
- Is the sign free of obstruction by vegetation or other objects? *
- Is the sign facing correctly and not twisted or bent from its intended orientation?
Physical Condition
- Is the sign face free of fading, graffiti, damage, or peeling sheeting? *
- Is the post/support structurally sound and, where required, breakaway? *
- Photograph the sign
Retroreflectivity
- Does the sign meet MUTCD minimum maintained retroreflectivity for its color/type? *
- Measured retroreflectivity, if metered (cd/lx/m2)
- Is nighttime/visual inspection or measured assessment method documented?
Disposition
- Is replacement or maintenance required? *
- Priority (routine / expedited / immediate for regulatory/critical signs)
- Is the sign inventory/asset record updated with condition and disposition?
