Project & Environment

  • Structure ID / coating area designation *
  • Date of inspection *
  • Is the coating system a new application, maintenance overcoat, or condition survey? *
  • Are ambient conditions (temp, humidity, dew point, surface temp) within specification? *

Surface Preparation

  • Does abrasive blast cleanliness meet the specified SSPC grade (e.g., SP 10 near-white)? *
  • Is the surface profile (anchor pattern) within the specified range? *
  • Measured surface profile (mils)
  • Are soluble salt/chloride levels below specified limits?

Coating Application & Thickness

  • Does dry film thickness (DFT) of each coat meet SSPC-PA 2 acceptance? *
  • Measured total DFT (mils)
  • Is the coating free of runs, sags, overspray, dry spray, and pinholes? *
  • Do holiday/pinhole detection results (where required) pass?

Adhesion & Existing Condition

  • Does adhesion testing (pull-off / X-cut) meet the specified minimum?
  • Is the existing coating free of active rust, blistering, cracking, or delamination? *
  • Estimated percent of area with coating breakdown (%)

Actions

  • Is spot repair, overcoat, or full recoat recommended? *
  • Findings and recommended actions
