Placement & Accessibility
- Are extinguishers mounted, located, and identified so they are readily accessible? *
- Are extinguishers distributed based on hazard class and travel-distance requirements? *
- Is the path to each extinguisher free of obstructions? *
Monthly Visual Inspection
- Is the extinguisher in its designated place and not physically damaged? *
- Is the pressure gauge needle in the operable (green) range? *
- Are the pin and tamper seal intact? *
- Is the monthly inspection recorded (tag or log)? *
Annual Maintenance & Hydrostatic Test
- Has an annual maintenance check been performed and documented? *
- Are stored-pressure extinguishers within their hydrostatic test intervals? *
- Are extinguishers recharged after any use, even partial? *
Training
- Have employees expected to use extinguishers been trained on hazards and use upon assignment and annually? *
