- Is a berth-to-berth passage plan prepared covering appraisal, planning, execution, and monitoring? *
- Are charts and publications corrected to the latest notices for the intended route? *
- Are no-go areas, under-keel clearance, and contingency/abort points identified? *
- Are weather routeing information and forecasts obtained for the passage? *
Stability and Loading for Weather
- Does the loading condition meet the intact stability criteria for the expected weather? *
- Are parametric-rolling and synchronous-rolling risks assessed for the route and heading? *
- Is the free-surface effect from slack tanks minimised before heavy weather? *
Securing for Heavy Weather
- Are cargo, lashings, and deck equipment additionally secured before deteriorating weather? *
- Are watertight doors, hatches, ventilators, and weathertight closures secured? *
- Are storm rails, lifelines, and access restrictions to exposed decks put in place? *
Bridge Monitoring
- Is the plan monitored with position fixing at appropriate intervals and speed adjusted for conditions? *
- Is course/speed alteration considered to reduce slamming, shipping of water, and rolling? *
