Panels & Disconnects

  • Is at least 36 inches of working clearance maintained in front of electrical equipment? *
  • Are circuit breakers and disconnects legibly labeled to indicate purpose? *
  • Are unused openings in panels and boxes closed with covers or plates? *

Wiring, Cords & Equipment

  • Are flexible cords free of damage and used only as permitted (not as fixed wiring)? *
  • Are grounding-type receptacles properly grounded? *
  • Is GFCI protection provided in wet/damp locations and for temporary wiring? *
  • Are junction boxes and outlets covered with no exposed live parts? *

Safe Work Practices

  • Is de-energizing and LOTO used before working on electrical equipment? *
  • Where energized work is unavoidable, is an energized work permit and arc-flash PPE used? *
  • Are only qualified persons permitted to work on exposed energized parts? *

Signage & Access

  • Are high-voltage and 'Danger' warning signs posted where required? *
  • Are electrical rooms and equipment secured against unauthorized access? *
