Identification & Segregation (Cl. 8.7.1)

  • Are nonconforming outputs identified promptly upon detection? *
  • Are nonconforming outputs controlled to prevent their unintended use or delivery? *
  • Nonconformity / defect description *
  • Quantity affected *

Disposition (Cl. 8.7.1 a–d)

One or more dispositions must be applied.

  • Has a disposition been determined (correction, segregation/return, informing customer, or obtaining concession)? *
  • Where correction was performed, was conformity to requirements re-verified after correction? *
  • Where use-as-is or concession was granted, was authorization obtained from a relevant authority (and customer where required)? *

Records (Cl. 8.7.2)

  • Does the record describe the nonconformity? *
  • Does the record describe the actions taken? *
  • Does the record describe any concessions obtained? *
  • Does the record identify the authority deciding the disposition? *

Follow-up

  • Was a corrective action / nonconformity report raised where the issue warrants root cause analysis? *
  • Was the customer notified where nonconforming product was already delivered or in use? *
  • Disposition authority signature *
