Competence Criteria
- Are auditor competence criteria defined (personal behavior, knowledge, and skills)? *
- Do criteria address knowledge of the applicable standard(s), audit principles, processes, and methods? *
- Is independence from the audited area required (auditors do not audit their own work)? *
Training & Development
- Have candidate auditors completed formal internal-auditor training covering the standard and audit technique? *
- Have candidates participated in witnessed or supervised audits before auditing independently? *
- Are training records retained as documented information of competence? *
Evaluation & Maintenance
- Is auditor performance evaluated using defined methods (review of records, feedback, observation, interview)? *
- Is continual professional development / maintenance of competence tracked (audits performed per year, refresher training)? *
- Is an approved auditor register maintained showing scope of qualification per auditor? *
- Record next re-qualification/refresher date for each qualified auditor
