Risk Identification
- Has the organization identified and evaluated internal and external risks to all manufacturing processes and infrastructure essential to maintain output? *
- Are risks such as utility interruptions, labor shortages, equipment failure, cyber-attacks, and field returns considered? *
- Are risks from external provider disruptions and single-source supply included in the evaluation? *
Contingency Plans
- Are contingency plans defined appropriate to the risk and the impact to the customer? *
- Do plans address supply interruptions from key equipment, external provider disruptions, and recurring natural disasters? *
- Is a process defined to notify the customer and other interested parties of the extent and duration of any situation affecting delivery? *
Testing & Verification
- Are contingency plans periodically tested for effectiveness (e.g., simulation as appropriate)? *
- Is production restart verified to ensure product conformity after an emergency shutdown? *
- Are back-up alternatives (e.g., alternate equipment, sites, or suppliers) identified where feasible?
Review & Documentation
- Are contingency plans reviewed and updated (at minimum with a multidisciplinary team) as required? *
- Are the contingency plans documented and lessons learned retained? *
- Date of last contingency plan review
