Phase 1 — Plan & Define Program
- Are the voice of the customer, business plan, and product/process assumptions captured? *
- Are design goals, reliability and quality goals, and a preliminary bill of material defined? *
- Is a preliminary listing of special product and process characteristics established? *
Phase 2 — Product Design & Development
- Is the Design FMEA completed and risk reduced? *
- Are design for manufacturability and assembly reviews and design verification plans complete? *

Phase 3 — Process Design & Development
- Are packaging standards, process flow, floor plan, and characteristics matrix complete? *

- Is a pre-launch control plan and measurement systems analysis plan established? *
Phase 4 — Product & Process Validation
- Is a significant production run conducted to validate the process? *
- Are MSA and preliminary process capability studies completed and acceptable? *
- Is PPAP approved and the production control plan finalized? *
Phase 5 — Feedback, Assessment & Corrective Action
- Is variation reduced and customer satisfaction and delivery/service monitored post-launch? *
