Management & Job Audits
- Is the plating system assessment completed annually and reviewed by management? *
- Are job audits performed against the applicable specification and control plan for representative parts? *
- Are operators trained and qualified for the plating lines they run? *
Solution & Chemical Control
- Are bath/solution parameters (concentration, pH, temperature, current density) monitored at defined frequencies with reaction plans? *
- Is analytical laboratory control of solutions performed with calibrated equipment and documented titrations? *
- Are anodes, additives, and chemical additions controlled and recorded? *
Rinsing & Process Flow
- Are rinse tanks controlled (overflow, contamination limits, conductivity) to prevent drag-out and staining? *
- Is racking/barrel loading controlled to ensure uniform current distribution and coverage? *
- Is waste treatment and environmental compliance maintained for the plating line? *
Testing & Verification
- Is coating thickness verified by a validated method (e.g., X-ray fluorescence, cross-section) at required frequency? *
- Are adhesion, corrosion (e.g., salt spray), and hydrogen embrittlement relief requirements verified where specified? *
- Record plating line ID and the specifications assessed
