Prevention Process & Sourcing
- Has the organization implemented a process to prevent the use of counterfeit or suspect counterfeit parts? *
- Is procurement controlled to purchase from original or authorized manufacturers, distributors, or approved sources? *
- Are controls in place for parts purchased from sources other than OCM/OEM or authorized distributors? *
Awareness & Training
- Does the counterfeit prevention process include training of appropriate persons in awareness and prevention? *
- Are personnel trained to recognize the risks and characteristics of suspect counterfeit parts? *
- Is awareness training records retention maintained and refreshed at a defined frequency?
Traceability & Verification
- Is a method to trace parts from approved sources throughout the supply chain maintained? *
- Are verification and test methodologies used to detect counterfeit parts? *
- Is certificate of conformity and supporting traceability documentation reviewed at receipt? *
Obsolescence & Reporting
- Are processes in place to monitor counterfeit parts information and to manage parts that are obsolete or at end of life? *
- Is there a process for quarantine and reporting of suspect or detected counterfeit parts? *
- Are suspect/counterfeit parts reported to internal and external organizations as required (e.g., GIDEP)?
