BOP System Configuration
- Does the BOP stack include the required number and type of rams and annular preventers for the operation? *
- Is the BOP equipment rated for the maximum anticipated surface pressure (MASP) of the well? *
- Are shear rams verified capable of shearing the drill pipe in use under maximum anticipated conditions? *
Pressure Testing
- Was a low-pressure and high-pressure test performed on the BOP system? *
- Are BOP pressure tests conducted at intervals not exceeding 14 days? *
- Date of the most recent BOP pressure test. *
- Are stump tests and initial subsea tests documented before running the BOP? *
Function Testing and Response Times
- Are BOP function tests performed at intervals not exceeding 7 days? *
- Do the accumulator system and closing times meet the required performance criteria? *
- Is the autoshear and deadman system function tested for subsea BOPs? *
Maintenance, Inspection and Third-Party Verification
- Is the BOP maintained and inspected in accordance with API Standard 53 and the OEM recommendations? *
- Has a BSEE-approved verification organization verified the BOP for deepwater operations where required? *
- Are BOP test records, function test records, and inspection reports retained and available? *
Well Control Readiness
- Are choke and kill lines, valves, and the diverter system inspected and functional? *
- Is the crew's well-control certification current for personnel in well-control positions? *
- Attach a photo of the current BOP test chart or verification record.
