Permit Coverage

  • Is the facility covered by a current NPDES individual or general permit for offshore discharges? *
  • Are all authorized discharge points (outfalls) identified and consistent with the permit? *
  • Permit effective / expiration date on file. *

Produced Water Effluent Limits

  • Is produced water oil and grease maintained within the daily maximum limit of 42 mg/L? *
  • Is the produced water 30-day average oil and grease maintained at or below 29 mg/L? *
  • Latest measured produced water oil and grease concentration (mg/L). *

Drilling Fluids and Cuttings

  • Is there no discharge of free oil from drilling fluids and cuttings (static sheen test passing)? *
  • Are synthetic-based mud cuttings compliant with retention-on-cuttings and sediment toxicity limits? *
  • Is the discharge of diesel-based drilling fluids prohibited and verified? *

Monitoring, Sampling and Reporting

  • Is sampling and analysis conducted at the frequency and by the methods specified in the permit? *
  • Are Discharge Monitoring Reports (DMRs) submitted on time to the permitting authority? *
  • Are permit exceedances reported and non-compliance events documented? *
  • Are monitoring records retained for at least three years? *
