Management System

  • Are documented procedures covering all CoC requirements applicable to the product scope maintained? *
  • Is a person with overall responsibility for CoC compliance designated? *
  • Have relevant staff been trained on the CoC procedures? *
  • Are CoC records retained for at least five years? *

Sourcing and Material Verification

  • Is the FSC certification status of suppliers verified as valid for the products purchased? *
  • Do supplier invoices and delivery documents include the FSC claim and the supplier's certificate code? *
  • Are incoming FSC-certified materials reconciled against the accompanying documentation upon receipt? *

Material Control and Claims

  • Are FSC-certified inputs identified and segregated or accounted for by the applicable control system (transfer, percentage, or credit)? *
  • Are volume records reconciled so that FSC output claims do not exceed eligible inputs? *
  • Are correct FSC claims (FSC 100%, FSC Mix, FSC Recycled) applied to sales documents? *

Labeling and Trademark Use

  • Is on-product and off-product use of the FSC trademarks approved and compliant with FSC trademark requirements? *
  • Is the organization's FSC license code applied correctly to labeled products? *
  • Is label artwork approved by the certification body or generated through the FSC label generator before use? *

Controlled Wood and Complaints

  • Where non-certified inputs are used in FSC Mix products, are they controlled per the FSC controlled wood requirements? *
  • Is a documented procedure in place to handle complaints regarding FSC claims? *
  • Is a Policy for Association commitment maintained to avoid unacceptable sources such as illegal harvesting and rights violations? *
