Permit Applicability
- Has the facility determined whether it is a concentrated aquatic animal production (CAAP) facility requiring an NPDES permit? *
- Does the facility hold a current NPDES permit covering its discharge points? *
- Are the applicable effluent limitation guidelines for aquatic animal production correctly applied? *
Feed & Solids Management
- Are feeding practices managed to minimize uneaten feed and associated nutrient and solids loading? *
- Are settleable solids captured and controlled (settling basins, quiescent zones) before discharge? *
- Is accumulated sludge and solids handled and disposed of to prevent re-entry to the discharge? *
Chemical & Drug Controls
- Are drugs, pesticides, and therapeutants used only as approved and applied to minimize discharge? *
- Are records maintained of chemicals and drugs used, including the frequency and rationale? *
- Are spill prevention and reporting measures in place for chemical storage areas? *
Monitoring & Reporting
- Is effluent monitored for the parameters and at the frequency required by the permit? *
- Is a best management practices plan documented, implemented, and reviewed? *
- Are discharge monitoring reports submitted and any exceedances reported to the permitting authority? *
