Fire Detection and Alarm

Is the fixed fire detection and fire alarm system operational with no faults or isolated zones? *
Are manual call points accessible, identified, and functional throughout accommodation and service spaces? *
Are the general emergency alarm and public address system audible in all spaces where crew and passengers may be present? *

Is the fixed gas (CO2 or equivalent) fire-extinguishing system for machinery spaces charged, sealed, and free of leakage? *
Are release controls for fixed systems clearly marked, protected against accidental operation, and with alarms that sound before discharge? *
Is the fixed water-based or foam system for cargo/machinery spaces pressure-tested and operational as applicable? *

Are all escape routes clear, illuminated, and marked with low-location or photoluminescent guidance? *
Are emergency escape breathing devices (EEBDs) provided and stowed at required locations? *
Are stairways and corridors forming escape routes clear of stores and obstructions and fitted with handrails as required? *
