Pre-Loading Readiness
- Are refrigerated cargo spaces or reefer containers pre-cooled and confirmed serviceable before loading? *
- Is the shipper's carriage instruction with the required carriage temperature and ventilation available? *
- Are reefer plugs, sockets, and generator/power capacity sufficient for the planned number of units? *
- Enter the required carriage temperature setpoint in degrees Celsius.
Temperature and Atmosphere Control
- Are setpoints, defrost, and (where used) controlled/modified atmosphere settings verified against instructions? *
- Is fresh-air ventilation set correctly for respiring produce to control CO2 and ethylene? *
- Are supply and return air temperatures within tolerance after loading? *
Monitoring and Records
- Are reefer units monitored at the required frequency with temperatures logged? *
- Is an alarm/response procedure in place for units outside the acceptable temperature range? *
- Are malfunctioning units attended, and repairs or reassignment documented? *
Safety
- For controlled-atmosphere or fumigated units, are entry precautions and warning notices applied? *
- Is the refrigerant handling and leak-detection arrangement for machinery spaces functional? *
- Attach a photo of the reefer monitoring log or a representative unit display.
