Pre-Trip Setup
- Is the set-point temperature for each reefer confirmed against the shipper's instructions and the reefer manifest? *
- Is the pre-trip inspection (PTI) record available for each unit prior to loading? *
- Are ventilation and fresh-air exchange settings correct for the commodity carried? *
- Where controlled or modified atmosphere is specified, are the gas settings and monitoring in place? *
Power and Connections
- Are reefer power cables and plugs in good condition and connected to the correct voltage supply? *
- Is the available reefer plug capacity sufficient for the number of units loaded? *

Operational Verification
- Is each running unit confirmed pulling down toward or holding its set point after connection? *
- Are supply and return air temperatures within the expected tolerance for the unit? *

Voyage Monitoring
- Are reefer temperatures recorded at the required intervals during the voyage? *
- Is a procedure in place to respond to a reefer alarm or malfunction at sea, including notifying the operator? *
