NOx Tier III Compliance

  • Are engines subject to Tier III operated in the required mode when entering a NOx Emission Control Area? *
  • Is a valid Engine International Air Pollution Prevention (EIAPP) certificate held for each applicable engine? *
  • Is the entry and exit from the NOx ECA, with Tier III activation, recorded in the logbook? *

Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR)

  • Is sufficient reductant (urea) on board for the intended Tier III operation? *
  • Is the SCR reactor operating within its required exhaust temperature window? *
  • Are reductant dosing and ammonia slip within the parameters of the technical file? *
  • Enter the quantity of urea reductant on board in cubic metres.

Exhaust Gas Cleaning System (Scrubber)

  • Is the EGCS operated in accordance with its approved SOx Emissions Compliance Plan and Technical Manual? *
  • Is washwater monitoring (pH, PAH, turbidity) within the discharge criteria and recorded? *
  • Are washwater discharge prohibitions in ports or areas that restrict open-loop operation observed? *
  • Is EGCS residue retained on board and discharged only to reception facilities? *

Records and Fallback

  • Is a fallback plan (compliant fuel or reduced operation) available if the SCR or scrubber becomes inoperative? *
  • Are continuous emissions or parameter monitoring data recorded and retained for inspection? *
