IOPP Certification and Documents

  • Is a valid International Oil Pollution Prevention (IOPP) Certificate on board with the completed Form A/B supplement matching the ship's equipment? *
  • Is the approved Shipboard Oil Pollution Emergency Plan (SOPEP) on board, current, and accessible? *
  • Enter the IOPP Certificate expiry date. *

Oil Record Book Part I (Machinery Space)

  • Is the Oil Record Book Part I completed on a tank-to-tank basis and signed by the officer in charge of each operation? *
  • Is each completed page signed by the Master? *
  • Are entries free of gaps, erasures, and unexplained discrepancies against sounding logs and bilge/sludge quantities? *
  • Are sludge and bilge water disposals to shore reception facilities supported by receipts consistent with ORB entries? *

Oily-Water Separator and Monitoring

  • Is the 15 ppm oily-water separator (bilge separator) operational and free of unauthorized bypass arrangements? *
  • Does the 15 ppm oil content meter / bilge alarm function correctly and stop discharge above 15 ppm? *
  • Is the oil content meter recording device retaining records for the required retention period? *

Sludge, Bilge and Tank Management

  • Are sludge and bilge holding tanks adequately sized, correctly piped, and free of unauthorized connections to overboard discharge? *
  • Is the standard discharge connection for shore reception facilities fitted and accessible? *
  • Enter the current sludge tank quantity (m3).

Machinery Space Housekeeping

  • Are machinery spaces free of accumulated oil in the bilges and save-alls, with no evidence of leakage overboard? *
  • Are placards on oil pollution prevention and discharge criteria posted in the engine room?
  • Are all overboard discharge valves in the machinery space clearly marked and their status controlled to prevent unauthorized discharge? *
