Routine Inspection Regime
- Are weekly inspections of lifeboats, rescue boats, and launching appliances carried out and recorded? *
- Are monthly inspections with a checklist, including engine start and equipment check, completed? *
- Are lifeboat engines run ahead and astern during weekly checks where practicable? *
On-Load Release Gear
- Is the on-load release gear examined, operationally tested, and maintained by trained personnel? *
- Has the release gear been overhauled and dynamically tested at the required interval (annual/5-yearly)? *
- Is a Fall Prevention Device used during maintenance where the design requires it? *
Falls, Davits, and Winches
- Are lifeboat/rescue-boat falls turned end-for-end and renewed at the required intervals? *
- Is the launching appliance and winch brake tested, including a dynamic brake test? *
- Are limit switches, sheaves, and structural davit components examined for wear and corrosion? *
- Enter the date of the last five-yearly thorough examination and operational test.
Servicing and Records
- Is annual servicing carried out by the manufacturer or a certified service provider? *
- Are maintenance manuals and service records for each appliance retained on board? *
- Are personnel prohibited from being in the boat during load tests unless the design requires it? *
