IG Plant and Gas Quality
- Is the inert gas system capable of delivering gas with oxygen content not exceeding 5% by volume? *
- Are the scrubber, blowers, and cooling arrangements operating correctly? *
- Enter the oxygen content of delivered inert gas at the point of supply (% by volume).
Safety Devices and Non-Return Arrangements
- Is the deck water seal (or equivalent non-return device) functioning to prevent back-flow of hydrocarbon gas? *
- Is the deck (P/V) mechanical breaker charged and at the correct level? *
- Are non-return valves and isolating arrangements between IG main and cargo tanks operational? *
Alarms and Instrumentation
- Are oxygen and pressure alarms/trips for the IG system tested and functional? *
- Are fixed and portable oxygen and hydrocarbon gas measuring instruments calibrated and available? *
Tank Atmosphere Control
- Are cargo tanks maintained in an inert condition (below 8% oxygen) during carriage and cargo operations as required? *
- Are purging and gas-freeing operations conducted per approved procedures with atmosphere monitoring? *
- Is positive pressure maintained in cargo tanks to prevent air ingress? *
