Documentation and Declaration
- Is a Dangerous Goods Declaration provided for each consignment with correct UN number, proper shipping name, class, and packing group? *
- Is a container/vehicle packing certificate provided for units packed with dangerous goods? *
- Is the special (dangerous goods) manifest or stowage plan available showing location of each hazard? *
Packaging, Marking and Placarding
- Are packages UN-approved, in sound condition, and free from leakage or damage? *
- Are packages and units correctly marked, labelled, and placarded with class labels and marine pollutant marks as applicable? *
- Are marine pollutants identified and declared in accordance with MARPOL Annex III? *
Segregation and Stowage
- Are incompatible dangerous goods segregated per the IMDG segregation table and stowage codes? *
- Are stowage category requirements (on deck / under deck) observed for each substance? *
- Are goods requiring temperature control or ventilation stowed accordingly? *
Emergency Preparedness
- Are the EmS (Emergency Schedules) and Medical First Aid Guide (MFAG) available and relevant to the cargo carried? *
- Is a Document of Compliance for the carriage of dangerous goods held (where required by ship type)? *
- Are crew familiar with response actions and protective equipment for the goods on board? *
