Certification and Cargo Suitability
- Is a valid International Certificate of Fitness for the Carriage of Liquefied Gases in Bulk held? *
- Is each liquefied gas listed in the certificate with its carriage conditions? *
- Is the cargo containment type (independent tank type A/B/C, membrane) suitable for the cargo? *
Containment and Pressure/Temperature Control
- Are cargo tank pressure and temperature within design limits and monitored? *
- Is the reliquefaction plant, boil-off management, or cargo heating system operating correctly? *
- Are cargo tank pressure-relief valves set correctly and free from tampering? *
- Is the interbarrier/hold space inert gas or dry-air condition maintained and monitored? *
Gas Detection and Emergency Systems
- Is the fixed gas-detection system (flammable and, where relevant, toxic) calibrated and functional? *
- Is the Emergency Shut Down (ESD) system tested and functional for cargo operations? *
- Is the water-spray system for cargo tanks, manifolds, and accommodation front operable? *
- Is dry-chemical powder firefighting for the cargo area charged and available? *
Personnel and Operations
- Is protective and resuscitation equipment for the cargo (including toxic-cargo sets) available? *
- Are officers holding a specialized gas tanker certificate per STCW carriage requirements? *
- Is a ship/shore safety checklist completed before cargo transfer? *
