Approved Manual and Pre-Conditions
- Is an approved Crude Oil Washing Operations and Equipment Manual on board? *
- Is the cargo tank atmosphere inerted with oxygen not exceeding 8% before and during washing? *
- Is positive pressure maintained in tanks throughout the operation? *
Equipment and Line Checks
- Are tank-washing machines, drive units, and COW piping leak-tested and confirmed operational? *
- Are hydraulic/other checks completed and washing pattern (single/multi-stage) confirmed per manual? *
- Are stripping arrangements and eductors verified for effective drainage? *
Operation and Monitoring
- Is a responsible officer supervising the operation with adequate deck watch and communication? *
- Are washing pressure, temperature, and machine coverage monitored per the programme? *
- Is bottom washing and stripping carried out on tanks being washed for the crude oil washing requirement? *
Records
- Is the crude oil washing recorded in the Oil Record Book Part II with tanks washed? *
