Hatch Cover Condition
- Are hatch cover panels, stiffeners, and top plating free from significant corrosion, cracks, or deformation? *
- Are rubber sealing gaskets in good condition with correct compression and no permanent set? *
- Are compression bars, drainage channels, and non-return drain valves clean and intact? *
Securing and Operating Gear
- Are cleats, wedges, cross-joint securing, and locating devices complete and functional? *
- Do hydraulic/mechanical operating systems function without leaks or excessive play? *
- Has a weathertightness (hose or chalk/ultrasonic) test confirmed the covers are weathertight? *
Coamings and Structure
- Are hatch coamings, brackets, and stays free from wastage, cracks, and buckling? *
- Are air pipes, ventilators, and their closing appliances on deck intact and weathertight? *
Cargo Hold Interior
- Are hold frames, brackets, and transverse bulkheads free from significant corrosion, buckling, or cracking? *
- Is the bilge system, including wells, strainers, and non-return valves, clear and operational? *
- Are water ingress detection alarms fitted and tested (as required for the ship)? *
