Public Notice & Posting
- Was advance public notice of the meeting posted for the minimum period required by the state open meetings act? *
- Was notice posted at the principal office and on the public body's website? *
- Date and time notice was posted: *
- For any special or emergency meeting, was the additional notice standard satisfied? *
Agenda Requirements
- Was an agenda made available to the public in advance of the meeting? *
- Does the agenda describe each item with enough specificity for the public to understand the subject? *
- Was action limited to items identified on the posted agenda? *
Quorum & Deliberation
- Was a quorum present and recorded before any official action was taken? *
- Were serial or electronic communications avoided so a quorum did not deliberate outside a noticed meeting? *
- Was a public comment opportunity provided where required? *
Executive / Closed Session
- Was each closed session limited to a statutorily enumerated exception (e.g., personnel, litigation, real estate)? *
- Was the specific statutory exception cited in the open motion before convening the closed session? *
- Were final votes taken in open session rather than in closed session? *
Minutes & Records
- Were written minutes recording members present, motions, and votes prepared? *
- If the meeting was recorded, is the recording retained per the records schedule? *
- Were approved minutes made available to the public? *
