- Has the community adopted a floodplain management ordinance meeting minimum NFIP standards? *
- Is a floodplain development permit required for all development in the special flood hazard area? *
- Are permits reviewed to ensure other required federal, state, and local permits have been obtained? *
- Is the current effective Flood Insurance Rate Map used to determine the flood hazard area? *
Elevation & Construction Standards
- Are new and substantially improved residential structures elevated to or above the base flood elevation? *
- Are non-residential structures elevated or floodproofed to the base flood elevation? *
- Is an elevation certificate obtained documenting the as-built lowest floor elevation? *
- Are enclosures below the lowest floor limited to allowed uses with proper flood openings? *
Substantial Improvement & Damage
- Are improvements and repairs evaluated against the 50 percent substantial improvement/damage threshold? *
- Are structures meeting the substantial improvement threshold brought into full compliance? *
