Permit Application

Is a completed permit application on file with the location, use, and scope of work described? *
Are construction documents, including plans and specifications, submitted with the application? *
Where required by state law, are documents prepared and sealed by a registered design professional? *
Have permit fees been calculated and collected? *

Plan Review

Have construction documents been reviewed for compliance with the adopted building code? *
Has the proposed use and occupancy classification been verified? *
Has zoning and land-use compatibility been confirmed with the planning department? *
Have applicable flood hazard, energy, and accessibility requirements been reviewed? *

Inspections

Are required inspections scheduled at each stage (footing/foundation, framing, rough electrical/plumbing/mechanical, and final)? *
Is work left uncovered until the corresponding inspection is approved? *
Are inspection results, including corrections required, documented in the permit record? *
Are special inspections performed and reported where required by the code? *

Certificate of Occupancy

Is a final inspection approved before the building is occupied? *
