Walking-Working Surfaces & Housekeeping

Slip, trip, and fall hazards under 29 CFR 1910 Subpart D.

• Are floors clean, dry, and free of slip, trip, and fall hazards? *
• Are aisles and passageways kept clear and marked where mechanical handling equipment is used? *
• Are floor holes, open pits, and elevated platforms guarded or covered? *
• Are guardrails present on open-sided floors or platforms 4 feet or more above the level below? *

Exit Routes & Emergency Access

• Are exit routes free of obstructions and clearly marked with illuminated EXIT signs? *
• Do exit doors open in the direction of travel and remain unlocked from the inside? *
• Is a minimum of two exit routes provided where required by occupancy? *

Machine Guarding & Equipment

• Are point-of-operation, ingoing nip points, and rotating parts guarded? *
• Are machines anchored to prevent walking or moving during operation? *
• Are guards secured and not easily removed or bypassed? *

Electrical & Fire Protection

• Is at least 36 inches of clear working space maintained in front of electrical panels? *
• Are electrical panels labeled and unused openings closed? *
• Are portable fire extinguishers mounted, accessible, and inspected within the last month? *

Recordkeeping & Postings

• Is the OSHA 'Job Safety and Health: It's the Law' poster displayed? *
• Is the OSHA 300A summary posted February 1 through April 30 for the prior year? *
• Are required written programs (HazCom, LOTO, EAP) available on site? *
