Containers & Cabinets
- Are flammable liquids stored in approved safety cans or containers? *
- Do flammable storage cabinets meet design limits (not exceeding 60 gallons Class I/II per cabinet)? *
- Are cabinets legibly marked 'Flammable - Keep Fire Away'? *
- Is the quantity outside a storage room or cabinet within allowable limits? *
Storage Rooms & Separation
- Do inside storage rooms have the required fire-resistive construction and self-closing doors? *
- Are flammable liquids kept away from exits, stairways, and areas of egress? *
- Are incompatible materials (oxidizers, ignition sources) separated from flammables? *
Dispensing & Ignition Control
- Are containers bonded and grounded during transfer of Class I liquids? *
- Are ignition sources controlled and 'No Smoking' signs posted in storage/dispensing areas? *
- Is dispensing done in areas with adequate ventilation? *
Spill Control & Fire Protection
- Is secondary containment or spill control provided where required? *
- Is portable fire protection suitable for flammable liquid fires available nearby? *
