Waste Handling

  • Are waste containers clearly identified, covered where required, and emptied to prevent accumulation and pest attraction? *
  • Is waste removed from production areas to prevent it from becoming a contamination or allergen source? *
  • Are inedible, waste, and byproduct materials segregated and disposed of per procedure? *
  • Are external waste storage areas kept clean, secured, and pest-controlled?

Rework Identification

  • Is all rework identified with product name, lot, date, and allergen status? *
  • Is rework stored in labeled, covered containers to prevent contamination? *
  • Is the quantity and traceability of rework recorded?

Rework Incorporation

  • Is rework incorporated on a like-into-like basis so allergen profile is not changed? *
  • Are the type, quantity, and point of addition of rework documented for each batch? *
  • Is rework subject to the same food safety controls as primary product, including foreign-material detection? *
