Understanding & Prioritizing SDGs
- Has the value chain been mapped to identify areas of positive and negative SDG impact? *
- Have priority SDGs been selected based on materiality and significance of impact rather than convenience? *
- Is mapping performed at the target level (169 targets), not just the 17 goals? *
Goal Setting
- Are goals defined with baselines, timeframes, and KPIs aligned to relevant SDG targets? *
- Is an outside-in perspective used to set ambition relative to global thresholds? *
- Is a public commitment to the priority SDGs made by senior leadership? *
Integrating & Measuring Impact
- Are both positive contributions and negative impacts (do no harm) disclosed? *
- Are indicators linked to established frameworks (e.g., GRI, SDG indicators) rather than self-defined proxies? *
- Is the contribution distinguished as direct, enabled, or aspirational to avoid SDG-washing? *
Reporting & Communication
- Are SDG claims supported by evidence and methodology, avoiding unsubstantiated 'rainbow-washing'? *
- Is progress reported against defined targets over time? *
- Are disclosures cross-referenced to specific SDG targets and indicators for traceability? *
