Inventory & Boundary Prerequisites
- Is a complete GHG inventory covering Scope 1, 2, and 3 available and recent? *
- Has a target base year been selected with reliable data? *
- Does Scope 3 represent less than 40% of total emissions, or is a Scope 3 target being set? *
Near-Term Targets
- Do Scope 1 and 2 near-term targets align with a 1.5C pathway? *
- Is the target timeframe between 5 and 10 years from the submission date? *
- Do Scope 3 targets cover at least two-thirds of total Scope 3 emissions? *
Net-Zero Target
- Is a long-term net-zero target set no later than 2050 with at least 90% value-chain emissions reductions?
- Is neutralization of residual emissions with permanent carbon removals addressed?
- Is beyond value chain mitigation (BVCM) considered for the transition period?
Ambition & Method
- Is an approved target-setting method (absolute contraction or Sectoral Decarbonization Approach) used? *
- Is renewable electricity procurement addressed for Scope 2 targets?
- If the company has material land-related emissions, is a FLAG (Forest, Land and Agriculture) target set?
Validation & Communication
- Has the target submission form and required documentation been prepared for SBTi validation? *

- Is a plan to publicly disclose validated targets and report annual progress in place? *
