Programme & Product Category Rules
- Is the EPD developed under a recognised EPD programme operator? *
- Is a valid Product Category Rule (PCR) selected for the product category? *
- For construction products, is the PCR aligned with EN 15804 (or ISO 21930)?
- Has the PCR review been confirmed as valid and current? *
LCA Basis
- Is the underlying LCA conducted per ISO 14040/14044 and the PCR? *
- Is the declared/functional unit consistent with the PCR? *
- Are the life-cycle modules declared (e.g. A1-A3 product stage, A4-A5, B, C, D for EN 15804)? *
- Are cut-off rules and allocation procedures documented?
Declaration Content
- Are the required environmental impact indicators reported (e.g. GWP, ODP, AP, EP, ADP)? *
- Are resource use, waste and output flow indicators reported? *
- Is the EPD content complete, comparable and free of comparative marketing assertions where not allowed? *
Verification & Validity
- Has the EPD and underlying LCA undergone independent third-party verification? *
- Is the period of validity (typically 5 years) stated? *
- Is the EPD registered and published by the programme operator? *
