- Do material test reports confirm the specified steel grades? *
- Is the fabricator/erector AISC-certified or subject to the required shop inspection? *
- Are welding procedure specifications (WPS) available and appropriate for the joints? *
High-Strength Bolting
- Do bolt, nut, and washer assemblies match the specified grade and coating? *
- Is the faying surface condition (Class A/B) correct for slip-critical joints? *
- Is the correct pretensioning method used (turn-of-nut, DTI, tension-control)? *
- Has pre-installation verification testing of the bolt assemblies been performed? *
- Are snug-tight and fully pretensioned joints inspected per the required frequency? *
Welding & Welder Qualification
- Are welders qualified for the process, position, and material in use? *
- Are the correct filler metals and electrodes used and properly stored? *
- Are preheat and interpass temperatures maintained where required? *
- Do completed welds meet size, profile, and visual acceptance criteria? *
Nondestructive Examination & Erection
- Is UT/MT/PT performed on complete-joint-penetration welds per the specified frequency? *
- Are member locations, plumbness, and elevations within erection tolerance? *
- Are camber, bracing, and anchor rod placements verified? *
