Basis of Design
- Is a documented structural basis-of-design / design criteria narrative provided? *
- Are governing code editions and reference standards correctly cited? *
- Are risk category and importance factors correctly assigned for the occupancy? *
- Are material design strengths and specifications clearly stated? *
Loads & Load Combinations
- Are dead, live, snow, wind, seismic, and other loads correctly derived? *
- Are ASD and/or LRFD load combinations applied consistently? *
- Are wind design parameters (basic wind speed, exposure, GCp) appropriate for the site? *
- Are seismic design parameters (SDS, SD1, R, Cs) correctly determined? *
Gravity & Lateral Systems
- Is the complete gravity load path traced from roof to foundation? *
- Is the seismic force-resisting system properly detailed for its R factor? *
- Are drift and deflection limits satisfied? *
- Are diaphragms, collectors, and chords designed for in-plane forces? *
Members & Connections
- Are representative steel members and connections independently spot-checked? *
- Are concrete member designs and reinforcement detailing verified? *
- Are foundation elements consistent with the geotechnical recommendations? *
- Are computer analysis model assumptions (boundary conditions, mass) reasonable? *
Review Findings & Resolution
- Are all peer review comments logged with a disposition/response tracking?
- Have critical (life-safety) comments been resolved prior to permit issuance? *
- Is a signed peer review letter/statement issued to the building official? *
- Peer reviewer signature
