Design & Product Compliance

  • Does the applied assembly match the listed UL/design number for the required rating? *
  • Is the SFRM product approved and within its shelf-life? *
  • Are manufacturer application instructions and the approved submittal on site? *
  • Is the specified fire-resistance rating identified for each element (columns, beams, deck)? *

Surface Preparation & Conditions

  • Is the substrate clean, free of oil, dirt, and loose material for bond? *
  • Are primers/coatings on steel compatible with the SFRM per the listing? *
  • Are ambient and substrate temperatures within the application range? *
  • Are bonding adhesives or mechanical keys provided where required? *

Thickness & Density

  • Is average applied thickness verified per the required measurement frequency? *
  • Does thickness meet the minimum for the listed design? *
  • Is in-place density verified against the manufacturer's minimum? *
  • Are deficient areas patched and re-inspected? *

Bond Strength & Documentation

  • Is cohesion/adhesion (bond) strength tested per the specified frequency? *
  • Is the material adequately protected from damage after application? *
  • Are inspection reports and test results documented and submitted? *
  • Photo of applied fireproofing with thickness gauge
