Materials & Submittals
- Do masonry units meet the specified strength and ASTM designation? *
- Is the mortar type (M, S, N) and proportioning per the specification? *
- Are grout proportions and slump within the specified range? *
- Is the required inspection level (A/B/C) established for the project? *
Reinforcement & Embedded Items
- Are vertical and horizontal reinforcing bar sizes and spacing per the drawings? *
- Is reinforcement positioned and secured within the cell to maintain cover? *
- Are lap splices, dowels, and anchor bolts placed correctly? *
- Are joint reinforcement and wall ties/anchors installed at the specified spacing? *
Construction & Grouting
- Are mortar joint thickness and tooling within tolerance? *
- Are cleanouts provided for high-lift grouting and cells clean prior to grout? *
- Is grout placed in lifts and consolidated/reconsolidated as required? *
- Is protection provided for hot/cold weather masonry construction? *
Testing & Verification
- Are grout and mortar samples taken at the required frequency? *
- Is masonry compressive strength verified by prism test or unit-strength method? *
- Are inspection reports and any nonconformances documented? *
- Photo of grouted wall section and reinforcement
