Compliance Path & Documentation
- Is the chosen compliance path (prescriptive, performance, or ERI) documented on the approved plans? *
- Is a permanent building certificate posted or scheduled for posting? *
- Do installed component ratings (U-factor, R-value, SHGC) match the approved documents? *
Building Envelope
- Is insulation installed to the required R-value without gaps or compression? *
- Are continuous air barrier and air sealing details in place at penetrations and joints? *
- Do fenestration U-factor and SHGC labels meet the climate zone requirements? *
- Has a blower-door air leakage test met the required ACH50 (residential)? *
Mechanical Systems
- Are ducts and mechanical piping insulated to code in unconditioned spaces? *
- Has duct leakage testing met the allowable CFM threshold? *
- Are programmable thermostats and required HVAC controls installed? *
- Is equipment efficiency (SEER/AFUE/IEER) verified against the code minimum? *
Lighting & Power
- Does interior lighting power density meet the allowance? *
- Are occupancy/vacancy sensors and automatic shutoff controls installed? *
- Is the required percentage of high-efficacy lamps installed (residential)? *
