Program Setup

  • Is an approved Statement of Special Inspections on file identifying required inspections? *
  • Are the special inspectors and testing agencies approved and qualified for their scope? *
  • Is a schedule of special inspections coordinated with the construction sequence? *
  • Is the contractor's statement of responsibility on file where seismic/wind resistance applies? *

Soils & Foundations

  • Have subgrade bearing materials been verified against the geotechnical report? *
  • Has fill placement, lift thickness, and compaction been continuously inspected? *
  • Have deep foundation elements (piles/piers) been inspected during installation? *

Concrete

  • Has reinforcing steel placement, size, and cover been inspected before pour? *
  • Are concrete sampling, slump, air, and temperature tests performed at required frequency? *
  • Are compressive strength test cylinders cast and logged? *
  • Have post-installed anchors been inspected per the approved criteria? *

Structural Steel & Welding

  • Are high-strength bolted connections inspected for proper installation/tension? *
  • Is welding inspected by a qualified inspector with WPS verification? *
  • Has nondestructive testing (UT/MT) been performed on complete-joint-penetration welds where required? *

Masonry & Reporting

  • Is masonry inspection performed at the required level (A or B)? *
  • Are discrepancies brought to the attention of the contractor and design professional? *
  • Is a final report of special inspections documenting corrected discrepancies submitted? *
