Occupancy & Construction Type
- Is each space assigned a correct occupancy classification? *
- Is the type of construction identified (Type I–V, A/B)? *
- Are mixed occupancies handled by separation, non-separation, or accessory method? *
Height & Area Limitations
- Does building height in feet and stories comply for the type and occupancy? *
- Does allowable area comply, including frontage and sprinkler increases? *
- Are fire walls or fire barriers used to create separate buildings/areas where needed? *
Fire-Resistance & Protection
- Are required fire-resistance ratings for structural elements provided? *
- Are shaft, corridor, and occupancy separations rated correctly? *
- Is an automatic sprinkler system provided where required? *
- Is fire alarm and detection coverage specified per occupancy? *
Means of Egress
- Are occupant loads calculated for each space? *
- Is the number of exits/exit access doorways adequate for the occupant load? *
- Do egress width, travel distance, and common path comply? *
- Are exit signs and means-of-egress illumination provided? *
Accessibility & Interior Environment
- Are accessible routes, entrances, and toilet facilities provided? *
- Are minimum ceiling heights, light, and ventilation met? *
- Are interior finish flame-spread classifications specified? *
