Documentation & Permits
- Is the elevator installation permit and approved layout drawing on site? *
- Is the manufacturer's data plate and rated load/speed posted in the car? *
- Are wiring diagrams and maintenance control program (MCP) documents available? *
Machine Room & Hoistway
- Are machine room clearances, lighting, and disconnect means compliant? *
- Is the hoistway free of unrelated piping/ducts and properly enclosed/vented? *
- Are pit access, ladder, stop switch, and clearances verified? *
- Are guide rails, buffers, and counterweight properly installed? *
Car & Doors
- Do hoistway and car door interlocks and restrictors function correctly? *
- Is the door reopening (safety edge / detector) device operational? *
- Are car emergency lighting, alarm, and two-way communication working? *
- Is the car leveling within tolerance at each landing? *
Safety & Firefighter Service
- Have car and counterweight safeties and the overspeed governor been tested? *
- Has Phase I and Phase II firefighters' emergency operation been tested? *
- Does emergency/standby power operation function as designed? *
Load Test & Sign-Off
- Has a full rated-load and (where required) overload test been performed? *
- Has the traction/rel/leveling been verified under load? *
- Is the acceptance test witnessed and certified by the AHJ/QEI inspector? *
