Personnel & Certification
- Is the crane operator certified/qualified for the equipment type and capacity? *
- Is a qualified rigger designated for rigging tasks? *
- Is a designated signal person assigned when required? *
- Has a lift-specific toolbox talk been conducted with the crew? *
Site & Ground Conditions
- Have ground conditions been assessed as firm, drained, and adequate for the load? *
- Are outrigger/crawler pads and cribbing sized for the bearing pressure? *
- Is the minimum clearance from energized power lines maintained or de-energized? *
- Is the swing radius / danger zone barricaded? *
Equipment & Rigging Inspection
- Has a documented daily/shift inspection of the crane been completed? *
- Are slings, shackles, and below-the-hook devices inspected and within rated capacity? *
- Is the load moment / anti-two-block and safety devices functional? *
- Is the correct load chart configuration selected on the crane? *
Lift Plan Execution
- Is the load weight (including rigging) verified and within the chart capacity at radius? *
- Is this classified as a critical lift requiring an engineered/written lift plan? *
- Are wind speed limits and weather conditions within manufacturer limits? *
- Is a tag line used to control the load? *
